Staying ahead of the ever-changing print market, Blanks has added additional capacity and capabilities to its digital offering.  “For years, Blanks has offered clients digital solutions for their projects – from our Indigo 3500 to the Vutek flatbed UV ink jet we have been able to handle just about every digital job that comes our way. Now, as that business continues to grow, we are thrilled to be expanding our digital department”, said Leron Blanks, President and Owner of Blanks.

“The expansion comes in the form of both a new digital press and powerful software designed to process very large variable data programs.  After consulting with customers about their needs, and taking an in-depth look at the available platforms, the company selected the HP Indigo 5600 as the right press to handle the additional work. “From quality of image to the speed and flexibility the Indigo 5600 provides, our customers will be amazed at what can be achieved digitally”, said Mark Connor, Blanks VP of Sales and Marketing. A new Indigo ink mixing station was also purchased to allow for the precise matching of corporate colors.

Also added were the XMPie Personal Effects System and the HP Production Pro Print Server which will speed up the processing and management of large variable data programs. Customers with complex variable data programs will benefit greatly from the enhanced functionality of the XMPie Personal Effects System which offers the ability for multiple print files to share common databases and logic to streamline production. HP Production Pro Print Server enables us to drive both of our Indigo presses from a robust server with incredible throughput and imposition functionality.

Identified as one of industry’s growth areas, variable data programs, also known as personalized printing, is also a growing part of the company’s business. Craig Oslos, who manages the digital department for Blanks had this to say about the company’s digital expansion, “Because retail signage and direct mail programs are becoming more targeted, and more personalized, we are excited to offer our clients powerful ways to connect with their customers.  And our clients with larger digital programs will benefit greatly from the XMPie software while experiencing the peace-of-mind that comes with multiple presses.”
